About the Role

Learning Curve Group is looking for an English Tutor who can deliver Functional Skills and GCSE to students. This is a full-time position where you will be working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You will be working from home as all classes will be delivered remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • You will teach English at Functional Skills and GCSE levels.
  • Manage a caseload of learners, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.
  • You should be able to know your students to identify their starting point and their skills development requirements.
  • Conduct remote lessons via Microsoft Teams, ensuring engaging and effective delivery.
  • Facilitate learner inductions and handle related administrative processes.
  • You must be able to deliver structured timetable lessons as outlined by the Academy Manager.
  • You must show professionalism at all times with your students.
  • The ability to collaborate with team members and the Skills Academy Manager to plan and deliver qualifications in line with Learning Curve Group’s and external standards.
  • Regularly monitor attendance for all English courses and track learner performance, providing detailed reports to management.
  • Implement support systems to promote retention, achievement, and progression among learners.
  • Submit learner portfolios on time for interim and final verification by the internal moderator.
  • Assist learners where necessary to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • You are going to be delivering courses on the weekend on a rotation basis.
Qualifications
  • Qualified English Tutor with at least a L3 subject specialism.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in Maths (L2 specialism)
  • Minimum of 2 years delivery experience.
  • Hold a PTTLs/AET (or equivalent)
